Two Prince George RCMP officers have been charged with manslaughter in connection with the 2017 death of Dale Culver

According to reports Police were called alleging a man was looking for vehicles to break into. On July 18th 2017, Dale Culver, 35, went into medical distress after being tackled to the ground and pepper-sprayed by officers.

Culver was having trouble breathing and was placed in a police car. Paramedics arrived, and Culver collapsed as he exited the vehicle. He was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

As a result of a lengthy investigation On February 2nd, 2023, it was announced that Const. Paul Ste-Marie and Const. Jean Francois Monette were chaged with manslaughter. Const. Arthur Dalman, Const. Clarence (Alex) Alexander MacDonald and Sgt. Bayani (Jon) Eusebio Cruz face attempted obstruction charges.
