A boy shot on Saturday around 2:20 pm in an incident in the Jane and Finch neighbourhood has now died police say. The homicide is the 62nd in Toronto in 2020 versus 78 homicides in 2019. It is also the 53rd male homicide in the city.
Multiple people were shot in the incident at a parking lot near Jane Street and Stong Court. Two people left their car and fired 30 rounds at a second car. Three people were shot in the second car, but none received life threatening injuries. The boy was walking with his mother and was hit by a stray bullet.
A 25 year old male and a 24 year old male were already arrested by the police in the incident.

Rashawn Chambers, 24, and Jahwayne Smart, 25, both had their charges updated.
Jahwayne Smart, 25, of no fixed address, now faces the following 30 charges:

11) Possession of a Prohibited Or Restricted Firearm Knowing Its Possession Is Prohibited
12) Possession of Property Obtained By Crime Over $5000.00
13) two counts of Possession Of Firearm Contrary To Prohibition Order
14) Possession of Firearm with Altered Serial Number

Update the victim was identified to CP24 as Dante Sebastian Andreatta, 12, by the victim’s father. Dante was out grocery shopping with his mother when he was hit by a stray bullet on November 7th.
Update November 17th
TPS have announced that a 27-year-old man was arrested today and charged with first-degree murder following a shooting which killed Dante Andreatta Marroquin. Police also believe he is responsible for two other homicides – Dimarjio Jenkins who is known as Houdini , and Hamdi Zakarie who was shot while putting his baby in the car.
Inspector Hank Idsinga said “This has been an extensive investigation which has led us all the way to Halifax to find 27-year-old Cjay Hobbs who we allege was the getaway driver in all three homicides”.
Cjay Hobbs, 27, of Toronto, has been charged with three counts of First-Degree Murder.
