Montreal police responded to a residential building near the corner of Joseph-Renaud and Wilfrid-Pelletier boulevards after hearing cries for help on October 9th at approximately 10:40pm.
Police entered the apartment to find an 87-year-old suffering from stab wounds to the upper body. The victim was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries on October 10th.
Police took a 19-year-old man into custody near the building. Police said the man remains in custody and is considered a suspect.
