On July 5, 2025, Toronto police responded to reports of a stabbing in the area of Eastern Avenue and Woodward Avenue at approximately 10:10 p.m.

According to reports, paramedics were flagged down near a fast-food restaurant after someone spotted a stabbing victim. A 14-year-old boy, identified as Abdoul Aziz Sarr of Toronto, was found with serious injuries. Despite being rushed to hospital, he was pronounced dead.

This marks Toronto’s 19th homicide of the year.

Update: On Monday, July 7, 2025, a 16-year-old male from Toronto turned himself in to the police. He was arrested and charged with, First Degree Murder.

On Friday, July 11, 2025, a male youth, 16, of  Toronto, turned himself in to police. He was arrested and charged with, First Degree Murder.

Update: On Friday, August 8, 2025, a third male youth, 16, of Toronto, turned himself into police. He was arrested and charged with, First Degree Murder

On Friday, October 17, 2025, a male youth, 16, of Toronto, and another male youth, 17, of Toronto, were arrested and charged with, First Degree Murder.
