Peel police responded to a possible disturbance in a parking lot near the St. Elizabeth Seton School on July 6th at approximately 5:30 p.m.

Police and paramedics arrived to find a woman suffering from serious injuries. Const. Tyler Bell said it was quickly determined that she had been stabbed. She was rushed to hospital where she died of her injuries.

She has been identified as Jean McCalla, 62.

Police said a man was taken into custody near the scene.
