Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a stabbing at a Winnipeg Transit bus in the area of Colony Street and Ellice Avenue on May 24th at 3:00pm.
Police and paramedics arrived to find Raymond Wesley Hill, a 57-year-old male of Winnipeg, suffering from serious injuries. Hill was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries. According to reports the suspect started an unprovoked altercation on the bus with the victim, which escalated to the suspect brandishing a knife and stabbing the victim.
Justin Gabriel James, 41, of Winnipeg was arrested at the scene and charged with manslaughter. Police said It does not appear the suspect and victim knew each other.
