Vancouver police reported that a 92-year-old male Chinatown resident was found in serious medical condition on the afternoon of March 18 in an alleyway behind the Carnegie Community Centre, near the intersection of Main Street and East Hastings.

The man was taken to the hospital by ambulance for care but later died on March 31 while in the hospital. Officers have identified a number of potential suspects and are asking the public to share any information that could help with the case.

“We have confirmed the victim in this case was assaulted by multiple people prior to his death,” says Constable Tania Visintin. “Our investigation is focused on if those assaults contributed to his death.”
