Emergency services responded to a call about an unresponsive woman at a home on Gran Street in the morning of March 1st.

On arrival, police located a 23-year-old woman who was found dead at the scene.

Following the incident, the Batchewana First Nation Police requested support from the OPP’s Sault Ste. Marie Crime Unit. The investigation led to the arrest of 28-year-old Coy Larocque and 29-year-old Sierra-Lynn Nadon, both from Sault Ste. Marie.

Larocque faces charges including manslaughter, criminal negligence causing death, and drug trafficking involving opioids and cocaine. Nadon is also charged with manslaughter and trafficking the same substances. Both remain in custody as they await a bail hearing.

The investigation is ongoing, with multiple law enforcement and forensic agencies involved. Authorities are encouraging anyone with information to contact the OPP or Crime Stoppers.
