British Columbia 2026 Homicide Victim List
Prince George RCMP are investigating the death of 29-year-old Julian Wich as a homicide after his remains were discovered in the Fraser River earlier this year.
Wich was reported missing to police on January 2, 2026, after his family said they had not seen or heard from him since December 10, 2025.
Investigators identified suspicious circumstances surrounding his disappearance in the early stages of the case. As a result, the Prince George RCMP Serious Crime Unit took over the investigation, which has remained active.
On June 19, 2026, Wich’s remains were located in the Fraser River. Following the discovery and further investigative work, police determined that his death is being treated as a homicide.
Police announced on September 2nd that they are now appealing to the public for information that could help establish what happened to Wich and lead investigators to those responsible.
“We are asking that anyone who may have information relating to the death of Julian Wich to come forward and speak with police,” said Corporal Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer with Prince George RCMP. “Even information that may seem insignificant could assist us in advancing this investigation.”
Anyone who may have information connected to Wich’s disappearance or death is asked to contact Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300. Investigators are asking callers to reference file number 2026-141.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police continue to encourage anyone with potentially relevant information to come forward.
