Edmonton police responded to reports of gunfire near 32 Street and 26 Avenue shortly before 1:45 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 12, 2025.
When officers arrived, they found two men, believed to be in their 20s, suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers provided emergency first aid until paramedics took over, but both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Edmonton Medical Examiner’s Office completed autopsies on Tuesday, Dec. 16 and Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025, and determined both Ranveer Gill, 20, and Gurdeep Singh, 26, died of multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death is homicide.
Investigators are seeking a dark-coloured SUV that may have been in the area at the time of the shooting. Police are also asking residents near Silverberry Road and 23 Avenue, as well as 34 Street and 29 Street, to review any dashcam or security footage recorded between 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11, and 2:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 12, 2025, and to contact police if they have relevant video.
Police believe the incident was targeted and say the investigation is ongoing. Anyone who witnessed the shooting or noticed suspicious activity in the area is asked to contact EPS at 780-423-4567.
