The 2025 Toronto Homicide Victim List is available here

On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at approximately 6 p.m., police responded to a call for a well-being check in the area of Birchmount Road and Chelwood Drive. Family members, concerned about the occupants of the home, had contacted authorities to ensure their safety.

Upon arrival, officers discovered two men inside the residence, both showing clear signs of trauma. Tragically, both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has been identified as 62-year-old David Foote of Toronto. The second deceased, a 67-year-old man who also lived at the residence, is believed to be responsible for Foote’s death.

This incident marks Toronto’s 18th homicide of 2025.
