Cornwall Police responded to reports of a shooting on Leitch Drive On Saturday, January 3rd, 2026. When officers arrived, they found three people who were known to each other and suffering from serious injuries.

Two of the individuals were pronounced dead at the scene. The third was taken to hospital with serious injuries and is reported to be in stable condition.

Following the investigation, CPS concluded that an 81-year-old man at the Leitch Drive residence shot his 80-year-old former partner and her 83-year-old male companion, then later died from a gunshot wound he inflicted on himself. The two men died from their injuries, while the woman remains hospitalized with serious injuries.
