On Sunday, March 23, 2024, around 5:51 p.m., police were called to the scene of a shooting near York Street and Lakeshore Boulevard West. Upon arrival, officers found a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. He was later identified as 16-year-old Yonadab Dar from Toronto.

The police identified the suspect as 19-year-old Elijah Chapman, also from Toronto. He has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
