Brantford Police responded to a 911 call reporting a 34-year-old man found injured in a motel room on Colborne Street near Locks Road at around 11:00 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025.

Police said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

On March 23, 2025, at 3:00 a.m., the Brantford Police Service arrested a 48-year-old Brantford resident and charged him with First Degree Murder. 

The accused is being held for a bail hearing. As the investigation is still active, police will not be releasing additional information at this time.

The investigation is still ongoing, and police do not believe the incident was random.
