Update: Kyle Sequeira has been found not criminally responsibleToronto Homicide 56 & 57 – Lynette Sequeira, and Francis Sequeira found murdered in a Scarborough home

 Police responded to a call for an unknown trouble at 15 Pin Lane on September 5th at approximately 7:53pm where they found two bodies.

Police located the deceased inside of a home with obvious signs of trauma. They were both pronounced deceased on scene. The cause of death and the victim’s identities will not be released at this time.

Kyle Sequeira, 26, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1) two counts of Second Degree Murder

Update September 7th
The victims are now identified as Lynette Sequeira, 65, and Francis Sequeira, 68, both of Toronto. According to reports they were beaten with a golf club.

Update March 3rd 2025:
According to Global News “Superior Court Justice Anne Molloy found Monday that Kyle Sequeira was unable to access the knowledge that what he was doing was morally wrong when he engaged in the frenzied 2021 killing of his parents, Lynette and Francis Sequeira. Sequeira was suffering from untreated schizophrenia at the time.”

Kyle Sequeira has been found not criminally responsible.
