Toronto police and fire department responded to a fire call at 275 Chester Le Boulevard on June 17th.
Upon arrival located a man and a woman, who were both suffering from severe burns. They were both taken to the hospital where Henrietta Viski, 37, of Toronto died of her injuries on June 18th.
Norbert Budai, 38, of Toronto, has been arrested and police say charges are pending. He is scheduled to appear at Old City Hall court on Sunday, June 20, 2022, at 10 a.m., room 114.
Update September 6th
Toronto police announced that on August 11, 2022, Norbert Budai was formally charged with First Degree Murder. Budai was not able to charged at the time of the homicide because he was placed into an induced coma, as he was suffering from burns over 80% of his body.
According to the Toronto Star Henrietta Viski, a mother of three was found outside her home, suffering from severe burns and with her hair on fire, and a red gas can nearby.
A court date has not yet been set.
