OPP responded to report of human remains found in a wooded area off Hawkins Road February 24th in  South-West Oxford Township. The remains have been identified as  Vanessa Fotheringham, who was 24 when she was last seen on Feb. 16, 2012, near Oxford and Quebec streets in London ON.

Police issued a warrant for the arrest of Antonio Valentin Resendez-Cortez, 32, back in 2016, on a charge of second degree murder. It is believed that Resendez-Cortez who was working in Canada is no-longer in the country.

Det.-Sgt. Alex Krygsman said  “We believe that shortly after Vanessa went missing, that he fled Canada and went to Mexico,”

London Police are working with both the RCMP and Mexican authorities to locate Resendez Cortez.
