On January 6, 2025, around 2:45 p.m., officers responded to a call about a deceased individual found near P Line Road. Following the investigation, one person was arrested and charged on January 22, 2025.

The East Algoma OPP Crime Unit continues to investigate the case, working under the guidance of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch and in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
