The SQ said a woman who heard a child called 911 on January 8th at approximately 8:00am.

On arrival police located a 37-year-old man deceased from a point-blank range gunshot injury in an SUV in the parking lot of an apartment with a child under 4 in the backseat. According to La Presse the victim has been identified as Antoine Mergerie-Blais.

According to reports the victim had no criminal record, but he was well-known to the police. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
