Selkirk RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing outside a business address, located on Manitoba Avenue, on June 30, 2025, at 11:50 pm.

On arrival police located a 39-year-old female with critical injuries. The victim was rushed to hospital where she died of her injuries.

Update: A 15-year-old female from Gimli has been arrested and charged with the homicide of the 39-year-old female. The victim and the accused were not known to each other.

“It is shocking that a 15-year-old has been arrested for homicide, and very tragic that the female has died as a result of her injuries,” stated Sgt. Laura LeDrew of the Manitoba Major Crime Services. “The RCMP is working diligently to provide necessary support to all involved, and we extend our condolences to the family and friends of the victim. We are grateful and thank the community for their assistance, as we continue with the investigation.”
