Update: 16-year-old charged – Police investigate the stabbing death of Clifton Johnston in Port Alberni

Police responded to the report of an injured man laying on the sidewalk at 3500-block of 4th Avenue, near the Port Alberni Friendship Centre on March 27th.

Clifton Johnston was located suffering from stab wounds to the chest. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

No arrests have been made, and police ask anyone with information to contact the Port Alberni RCMP at 250-723-2424.

Update January 25th, 2022
Port Alberni RCMP arrested a 16-year-old male suspect on January 19th and charged him with second- degree murder in relation to the homicide of Clifton Johnston. RCMP said investigators had been working on this investigation continuously for nearly 10 months, awaiting Forensic Laboratory results and completing the significant disclosure these investigations require for charge approval. The investigation continues.
