OPP responded to a report of a shooting on Monday, Jan. 18, at approximately 12:00pm, in the area of Harvest Moon Drive, in Bolton.

Police and paramedics arrived to find one man deceased, and a second man was found injured. The injured man was taken to hospital.

Update November 2025: Provincial police say two men have been arrested and a third is being sought in connection with an attempted murder in Vaughan in November 2020 and a fatal shooting in Bolton in January 2021.

The victim injured in the Vaughan attack was later targeted again at the Bolton home, where 65-year-old Giovanni Costa was found dead.

Chris Brown, 28, of Barrie has been charged with attempted murder and conspiracy, while a 25-year-old Neheniah Tirfe, faces first-degree murder and attempted murder charges. Police have not released the identity of the third arrest.

Police have issued a province-wide warrant for 48-year-old Waheed Barakziye of London, who is wanted on the same offences

Update: On November 25th, 32-year-old Elias Akhi of London was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder, first-degree murder, and attempt murder.

Update March 12th: A 45-year-old Ottawa man, Damion Ryan, has been arrested in connection with the 2021 murder of Giovanni Costa, as well as two attempted murders dating back to 2020 and 2021.

Police have also issued a Canada-wide warrant for 48-year-old Waheed Barakziye of London, and an Ontario-wide warrant for 27-year-old Filmon Fesshaghirgis, also of London. Both individuals are believed to spend time in London and across the Greater Toronto Area.
