Francis Normand charged with the slaying of his mother in Montreal

Montreal police were called to a triplex on Gilford Street, on January 17th at approximately 1:35 am where they located a 49-year-old woman suffering from stab wounds to the upper body.

The victim, who has been identified in court documents as Francine Roux, was rushed to hospital where she died of her injuries.

23-year-old Francis Normand, was arrested at the scene and transported to the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. On January 18th, Normand appeared before a Quebec Court judge at the Montreal courthouse and was charged with second-degree murder in the death of his mother.
