Update: Ottawa’s third homicide of 2017: Ahmad Afrah dies from possible fall from a high rise building

Ottawa Police responded to a  disturbance call in the 400 block of MacLaren Street on May 15th at approximately 10:50pm. Paramedics were also dispatched to the same address on a medical call.

Emergency crews arrived to find Ahmad Afrah, 19 lying on the ground,. It is believed that Afrah had possibly fallen from a high rise building. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Liban Gure, 29 years old, has been charged with Manslaughter and aggravated assault.

Update May 19th
Canada wide warrants have been issued for Daniel Jean Charles, 20, and two minors, a 16 year old female and a 16 year old male.

Update May 28th
On May 26th the 16 year old girl turned herself into police.  The 16 year old male is still wanted as well as 20 year old Daniel Jean Charles (pictured above).

Update August 11th
Daniel Jean Charles, and a 16-year-old boy were both arrested in Toronto earlier this week. Jean Charles and the boy have been charged with manslaughter and aggravated assault in relation to the death of Ahmad Afrah.
