Montreal Police arrest and charge Dean Meister in relation to an April homicide – Police calling it the city’s 16th homicide of 2020

On April 9th 2020, Montreal police responded to a check on wellbeing after concerned family member reached out when they had not heard from a man.

Police arrived to find 64-year-old man unconscious and his body bore signs of violence. The victim was taken to hospital and Dean Meister,48, was arrested at the scene for aggravated assault. The victim died a few days later in hospital.

Police said Meister was already incarcerated when he was arrested on September 15th and was charged with second-degree murder in the man’s death.

Montreal police are calling the homicide the 16th of the year.
