Yellowknife RCMP said Breanna Menacho was reported missing on Wednesday, May 6th, and was last seen on the 5th in the area of Butler Road.
RCMP were notified of a multiple dwelling residential area, off Forrest Drive on May 6th at approximately 6:50 pm where they found Menaco deceased.
RCMP Major Crime Unit in conjunction with the NWT Chief Coroner Office, with assistance from Yellowknife RCMP General Investigation Section and the NT RCMP Forensic Identification Services launched an investigation and determined the death to be a homicide. Police have not released the cause of death at this time.
Police said Devon Larabie, 27, of Yellowknife has been arrested and charged with the murder of Breanna Menacho urder, sec. 235 of the criminal code.
