Noah Isaac, 39, died after falling into the Lachine Canal during a confrontation with another individual in the St-Henri neighbourhood on June 4th. He was taken to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Moses Nutaraluk, 42, from Inukjuak, has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the incident. Court records show Nutaraluk completed a three-year prison sentence in 2024 for aggravated assault in Abitibi. In a separate 2017 case, also heard in Abitibi, he was convicted of aggravated assault against a woman who was five months pregnant at the time.
