On July 28, RCMP were first called to a home on 112 Street East in High River at 5:54 p.m. after a man contacted police and made allegations against a woman at the residence. Officers investigated the complaint and determined the allegations were unfounded.
Later that evening, at approximately 9:28 p.m., Mounties were called back to the same home following reports of a disturbance. When officers arrived, they found 36-year-old Cayla Bleeker suffering from gunshot wounds.
Bleeker was rushed to High River General Hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
Police arrested Jarrett Stobbe at the scene. RCMP confirmed that both Bleeker and Stobbe were residents of High River.
Stobbe has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Okotoks on July 31.
