Hamilton Man Charged in the 2023 Death of Infant Annaleigh Storey

On November 5, 2023, around 5:46 p.m., Hamilton emergency services responded to a 911 call reporting a baby in distress at an apartment on Champlain Avenue. When first responders arrived, they found four-month-old Annaleigh Storey unresponsive.

She was rushed to the hospital but tragically pronounced dead shortly after.

Initial autopsy results suggested the circumstances surrounding Annaleigh’s death may have been suspicious. At the time, she was under the care of her mother’s boyfriend, who cooperated with investigators and was released without charges as the investigation continued.

In the months following her death, Hamilton Police conducted extensive interviews with family members and carried out multiple search warrants. A full autopsy report was later received and confirmed that Annaleigh’s death was not due to natural causes.

Based on the new forensic evidence, police determined there were grounds for criminal charges. On May 1, 2025, 23-year-old Damion Warren-Baker was arrested in Hamilton and charged with manslaughter in connection to the infant’s death. He is set to appear in court on May 2, 2025.
