Emergency services were called to a motel on Woodlawn Road West near Woolwich Street on October 15th at approximately 11:am

On arrival a female in her 50s was located deceased. Guelph police said as a result of a post-mortem examination the death was determined to be a homicide. Her identity and cause of death have not been released.

Update on October 24th investigators determined the victim and suspect were known to each other. The suspect was located at a business near York Road and Victoria Road South at around 8:30pm on Tuesday..

police arrested a 20-year-old Guelph male and charged with second-degree murder.
