Halifax 2026 Homicide Victim List

Police responded to reports of a shooting on Lahey Road in Dartmouth at around 10:30 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a 39-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The death is being investigated as a homicide by the Major Crime Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division. Investigators do not believe the shooting was a random act, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Update: Halifax police have identified the victim as Thomas Junior Downey of North Preston.
