Winnipeg Homicide 20 – Police Charge Two Teens with Second-Degree Murder in Death of 16-Year-Old Bruno Delmar Young

Two teenagers have been charged with second-degree murder following the death of 16-year-old Bruno Delmar Young in Winnipeg.

Just after 8 a.m. on June 25, 2026, West District General Patrol officers responded to a parking lot in the 1700 block of Wellington Avenue after receiving a report requesting a wellbeing check. When officers arrived, they found a 16-year-old male suffering from significant injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was later identified as Bruno Delmar Young, a member of Bloodvein River First Nation who had been living in Winnipeg.

The Winnipeg Police Service’s Homicide Unit assumed conduct of the investigation. Later that evening, investigators arrested two 17-year-olds—a male and a female—at a business in the 600 block of King Edward Street.

Both youths have been charged with second-degree murder and remain in custody. Police have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the homicide, and the investigation is ongoing.
