British Columbia 2026 Homicide Victim List

West Vancouver Police responded to a reported altercation at a home in the Squamish Nation community of X̱wemelch’stn shortly after midnight on June 24, 2026.

When officers arrived, they found an adult man suffering from serious injuries. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another adult man was later taken into custody by the Vancouver Police Department. Authorities have stated that there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over the case and is leading the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact IHIT at t 1-877-551-4448.
