On Sunday, September 15, 2024, police responded to a call about an unresponsive male at a home near Bathurst Street and Ner Israel Drive. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The Office of the Chief Coroner later determined the cause of death to be an accidental drug overdose.
Following a thorough investigation, officers identified a suspect believed to be distributing drugs throughout York Region, including those that were linked to the victim’s death.
On August 21, 2025, the suspect was arrested and charged with multiple offences, including manslaughter and trafficking controlled substances. Police also executed a search warrant at his residence, seizing various drugs and proceeds believed to be connected to criminal activity.

- Trafficking a Schedule I substance (6 counts)
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking a Schedule I substance (5 counts)
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (5 counts)
- Breach of probation (2 counts)
At the time of his arrest, JAFARI ROUDSARI was already on probation for unrelated matters.
