Edmonton police investigate the death of a man in his 60’s following an assault near a bus shelter

Edmonton police responded to the report of an injured man near a bus shelter in the area of 118 Avenue and 42 Street on August 22nd at approximately 4:00am.

 Russell William Storoschuk, 68, was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. According to reports an altercation between the deceased and another individual had taken place shortly before his death.

An autopsy was completed and determined that Storoschuk, 68, died from blunt trauma and the manner of death is homicide.

Update September 2nd
Edmonton police said surveillance obtained from businesses in the 118 Avenue area helped investigators identify the suspect, EPS arrested Darrell David Taylor, 23, on August 29th in downtown Edmonton, and charged his with second degree murder.
