Edmonton Homicide #24 – One dead and six injured in Edmonton Community Hall shooting

 Edmonton police responded to the report of a shooting at a community hall in the area of 37 Avenue and 106 Street on August 29th at approximately 4:00am.

Police arrived to find one deceased man in his 20’s and six other adult males who were injured during the incident and treated in hospital. Three of the victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were released. Of the other three that remain in hospital, one remains in serious condition.

EPS said Homicide Section has since taken over the investigation and a male suspect is currently in custody. No other information is available at this time.

Update September 1st
Edmonton police announced on September 1st that EPS Homicide Section charged Christopher Wilson, 37, with second degree murder on August 29th.

On Wednesday, Sep. 1, 2021, a second male, Abdullahi Yalahow, 32 was charged with first degree murder.

Update September 10th
The victim has been identified as Hamza Mohamed, 22.
