Durham Regional Police were called to the area of Concession Road 8 and Sideline 20 after a citizen located burnt human remains in a shallow grave on August 21st at approximately 2:30pm.

Forensic Investigators attended the scene to assist the Office of the Chief Coroner and a Forensic Anthropologist to recover the remains. A post-mortem will be conducted to determine more details about the deceased.

Police are urging any witnesses who may have information or who may have used the off-road/ATV trail in the last three weeks to come forward and speak with investigators.
