The Ottawa Police Service has reclassified the 2019 disappearance of Corey Baldwin as a homicide and is now offering a $75,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
Baldwin, who was 42 at the time, was last seen in the Montréal area in April 2019 and was officially reported missing eight months later, in December. Since then, both the OPS Missing Persons Unit and the Homicide Unit have spent years investigating what happened.
Police say new evidence points to Baldwin being the victim of a homicide, though his remains have not been found. For investigative reasons, officers are not releasing details on how they reached that conclusion.
Investigators believe Baldwin may have travelled to British Columbia shortly before he was reported missing. They’re hoping to hear from anyone who may have interacted with him in either Montréal or B.C. during 2019.
Anyone with information about Corey Baldwin’s disappearance or suspected homicide is urged to call the OPS tip line at 613-236-1222, ext. 5477.
