Calgary emergency responders responded to the report of an injured person in the greenspace, located behind the 100 block of Arbour Meadows Close N.W. on March 31st at approximately 8:30pm.

Police said Jal Acor JAL, 16, of Calgary was pronounced deceased at the scene. His death is being investigated as a homicide. Homicide Unit Staff Sergeant Sean Gregson said “This is a shocking file as the victim is so young,”

Police are asking for the public’s assistance for any information on suspicious activity Thursday night between 7 and 9 p.m. Residents in the area, specifically the 100 block of Arbour Meadows Close N.W., the 200 block of Schubert Place N.W., and 100 and 200 blocks of Scenic View Close N.W., are asked to check their property for anything suspicious and to share any dashcam footage. Anyone with information about JAL’s death is asked to contact the police non-emergency number at 403-266-1234.

Update: On April 5th a search warrant was executed at a residence in relation to this investigation, where a 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
