Update: Gerald Russell Frommelt arrested – Calgary police investigate the fatal shooting of Jamie Lynn Scheible

Calgary police we were called to the 300 block of Templeview Drive N.E., for reports of gunshots on April 7th at approximately 7:15pm.

On arrival police and paramedics located an unconscious woman who appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, Jamie Lynn SCHEIBLE, 23, was rushed to hospital where she died of her injuries.

Staff Sergeant Martin Schiavetta said “We continue to investigate this fatal shooting and the motivation has yet to be determined, Our investigators believe this was a targeted incident and do not believe it to be random.”

Update April 12th
Calgary police have issued a warrant for Gerald Russell FROMMELT, 37, who is wanted for second degree murder. He is described as 6’2” tall, approximately 250 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes.

Staff Sergeant Martin Schiavetta said “we have determined that the victim and accused were recently in a relationship and we believe this to be a domestically-motivated homicide”

Update May 7th
On Friday, May 6, 2022, at approximately 3:50pm, Calgary police arrested Gerald Russell FROMMELT, 37, at a residence in the 1900 block of 24 Street S.W. FROMMELT is believed to be responsible for the murder of Jaime SCHEIBLE, in the northeast community of Temple.
