Calgary police investigate the fatal shooting of Avinder Singh Toor

 Calgary police were called to reports of a shooting in the 500 block of Cresthaven Place S.W on July 7th at approximately 1:20pm.

The victim  37-year-old Avinder Singh Toor was pronounced at the scene. Toor’s dog was also killed.

Police said the suspect(s) fled the area in a vehicle that was later found burned-out, outside of Cochrane by RCMP.

“This shooting took place in the middle of the day in a neighbourhood area where people were out walking their dogs. We are currently speaking with a number of witnesses who were in the area at the time of the shooting and are asking anyone with information to contact police,” said Homicide Unit Staff Sgt. Colin Chisholm.
