Brandon police were called to a property in the 600 block of 9th Street after receiving a report of a deceased person found in the yard on August 7, 2025, around 11:26 a.m.

Upon arrival, the nature of the man’s injuries and the circumstances surrounding the scene led investigators to consider the death suspicious.

The man has been identified as a 35-year-old local resident, though his name has not been publicly released.

The BPS Major Crimes Section is leading the investigation, and an autopsy has been ordered to help determine the cause of death.
