Ottawa police responded to the report of an unresponsive man in the 1700 block of Russell Road, shortly after midnight on October 28th.

Police and paramedics arrived to find 21-year-old Raphael Atende with possible stab wounds and in cardiac arrest. He was declared deceased at the scene.

Update: Ottawa police announced on February 20th that a Canada-wide warrant has been issued for Zakarye Abdi-Jama, who is facing a charge of second-degree murder. Police say his current whereabouts are unknown.

Authorities also noted that they do not have a clear photo of Abdi-Jama available for public release at this time. If one becomes available, it will be provided.
