Update Police search for a cell phone and make an arrest – Battle rapper Pat Stay fatally stabbed in Halifax

Halifax police announced on September 4th that they located a man in the area of the 1600 block of Lower Water Street at approximately 12:35am, suffering from a stab wound.

The victim was transported to hospital where he died of his injuries. The victim has been identified as local rapper, 36-year-old Patrick Wayne Stay. According to reports Stay was stabbed on the dance floor at Yacht Club Social.

A gofundme campaign created to help Stay’s family has generated more than $80,000 in the first 24h.

Update September 10th
Halifax police announced that on September 10th they took a 31-year-old man in relation to Patrick’s homicide. A further update will be provided when available. 

Police are searching for a cellphone that might have been found in the area of Prince and Lower Water streets. Anyone who found a phone, or anyone who has videos or photos from that area and time, to call police at 902-490-5020.
