Update: victim identified as 27-year-old Ryden Brogden – Banff police investigate the second homicide in less than a month

Banff police responded to the report of an altercation at a local drinking establishment on Banff Avenue at approximately 12:09 a.m on September 3rd.

Police arrived to find a 27-year-old man from Foothills County suffering from stabbing injuries. He was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Police said two males were taken into custody at a nearby location, and assured the public that this incident is not related to a similar one that occurred last month in Banff.

Update September 4th
John Proule, 20, from Lake Country, B.C has been charged with second degree murder.

Update September 8th
 Police have confirmed the victim as 27-year-old Ryden Brogden.
