Assault charge to be upgraded to manslaughter after victim dies following an altercation in Guelph

Guelph Police Service responded to a report of a disturbance at a residential address in the northwest part of the city on July 17th at approximately 8:00pm.

Police arrived to find two men in the garage of the home, one man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries. The second male was arrested at the scene for Aggravated Assault. Police stated the investigation has revealed that no weapons were used.

The victim succumbed to his injuries on July 21st, and the charge of Aggravated Assault was upgraded to Manslaughter.
