Emergency crews were called to Wintergreen Road in the Tsuut’ina Nation at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026, following a report of an unresponsive woman.
Police said the 29-year-old female victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Police determined the circumstances surrounding her death to be suspicious, prompting an investigation by the Tsuut’ina Nation Police Service.
At the request of the victim’s family and out of respect for their privacy during this time of mourning, the identity of the deceased has not been released.
As a result of the investigation, officers arrested 40-year-old Amanda Audrey Nicole Crane on Monday, January 19, 2026. She has been charged with second-degree murder and is scheduled to appear in court via CCTV in Cochrane, Alberta, on January 27, 2026.
