Shyla Keewatin charged with murder of Michael Norman Ross, Three others charged in connection – Regina Police Launch Major Investigation After First Homicide of the Year Involving Fleeing Vehicle

Regina, Saskatchewan 2026 Homicide Victim List

Just before 3:00 a.m. on January 19, 2026, police attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of Saskatchewan Drive and Albert Street.

The driver failed to stop and fled, but the vehicle was located a short time later by the Regina Police Service Aerial Support Unit in the 1400 block of Princess Street. All occupants had abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

Officers searched the vehicle and discovered the body of an adult male inside. As the investigation continued, police were led to a residence in the 3700 block of Dewdney Avenue.

Both locations were secured as crime scenes, and assistance was requested from the Regina Police Service Major Crimes Unit, the Forensic Identification Unit, and the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service. Police said the death investigation is now a homicide investigation.

Police have identified the victim as 56-year-old Michael Norman Ross. Anyone who may have been in contact with Ross in the week leading up to January 19, 2026 to contact police.

Thirty-seven year-old Steven MYSLICHUK is charged with:

  • Indignity to a Dead Body [CC 182(B)]; and
  • Accessory After the Fact to Murder [CC 240].

Twenty-seven year-old Kobe Samual FIDDLER is charged with:

  • Indignity to a Dead Body [CC 182(B)];
  • Flight from Peace Officer [CC 3210.17];
  • Carrying a Concealed Weapon [CC 90];
  • Possession of a Firearm Contrary to a Prohibition Order [CC 117.01(1)]; and
  • Accessory After the Fact to Murder [CC 240].

Update On Tuesday, February 3, 2026, 33 year-old Shyla KEEWATIN, was arrested and charged with:

  • Indignity to a Dead Body [CC 182(B)]
  • First-Degree Murder [CC 235(1)]

30 year-old Destin DOHERTY is charged with:

  • Indignity to a Dead Body [CC 182(B)]; and
  • Accessory After the Fact to Murder [CC 240].
