Barrie Police Service released an update on November 7th regarding the missing persons investigation after Sacha Charles, Antonio Chimienti and a U-Haul truck were reported missing in late October.

Investigators have confirmed that a woman, believed to be Sacha Charles, 46, has been found deceased, and the case is now being treated as a femicide.

Police also located Sacha’s common-law partner, Antonio Chimienti, who had been reported missing as well. He was arrested without incident in the Stouffville area and brought back to Barrie, where he remains in custody pending a bail hearing.

The accused faces charges of second-degree murder and possession under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
