Red Deer RCMP responded to a request to attend a home in the City of Red Deer to assist EMS, as a 2-year-old child had sustained critical injuries on October 10th at approximately 9:30am.

The Injured child was rushed to hospital where they were pronounced deceased. On October 11th Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit charged a 30-year-old adult female from Red Deer with First Degree Murder in relation to the death of the 2-year-old child. The accused cannot be named due to a publication ban, however, police said the victim and the accused were known to each other.
